Work on Unbroken Light---my second novel---is quickly coming to an end, and I have solid plans for a Kickstarter. I'm looking to launch the campaign in mid-September and plan on having this be a soft opening for the book. Unbroken Light will be officially released in late November, but campaign backers will get early access to the book, along with a bunch of other Star Hunters-related merchandise. Posters, t-shirts, plushies... those are all going to be offered rewards. I have some cool stretch goals planned, but we'll focus on initial funding first.

The thing I'm most excited for right now is the completion of the cover art. Stellar scifi artist Adam Burn is returning for the cover, and he's almost finished with a really awesome piece. Cannot wait to share it!

More on the Kickstarter, official release date, and cover reveal later!

On August 15, I'll have been in business on Etsy for 2 solid years. That's pretty special, so to celebrate, I'm holding 2 giveaways, on on Facebook and the other on Tumblr, from now until August 15.

On Facebook, you can win this:

And on Tumblr, you can win this in the colors of your choice:

Rules are listed on Facebook and Tumblr in their respective posts. For those of you on Newgrounds who want to enter on Facebook, though, comment on the dragon sculpture photo and mention that you're from Newgrounds. I'll count that as a bonus referral ticket.

Good luck to those who enter!

Well, I haven't posted here since... You know let's not even talk about that.

So I had some recent art uploads and there should be more to come. Most of them will be on black paper because I have a lot of the stuff and I do love it. It adds so much richness to the colors, though I have yet to get yellows to pull towards gold on black paper, so that will have to be an expirement. Thinking orange will help.

On a less rambly note, I just got commissioned to make a 24" Typhlosion plushie. So it will be one of these guys, but twice as big:

Speaking of which, those 12" guys are up for sale. Who wants to be their new trainer?? I also have a cheaper fleece version up for grabs, and dragons for those who aren't fans of Typhlosion. You monsters.

Other than that, I'm looking into Redbubble to make prints, shirts, phonecases, mugs, what have you available for whoever might be interested in something like that.

And because I haven't tried to sell you enough things already (yep, it's one of those kinds of posts), my science fiction novel is available in both paperback and Kindle formats through Amazon, or a number of ebook formats via Smashwords. You can read free samples on either site, though Smashwords gives you a larger sample than Amazon.

Nothing to report beyond that.

Hellooooooo Newgrounds!

I don't know how many of you know / care that I make dragon plushies, but... well. I make 'em. And I have a backlog of inventory that I've decided to clear out. So I put several dragon plushies up on sale on Etsy, which you can snag right here!

Check out the regularly priced items while your at it, too. Just for the heck of it.

And just in case you somehow lost the link between here and two lines up, here is is again. GO BUY THINGS!!

:D

As celebration / promotion of my scifi ebook The Star Hunters: Chasing Shadows, I'm holding a raffle!

It's free to enter, though you do have to reblog a Tumblr post in order to qualify. Full rules are over there!

There is, however, a sub-raffle. If you buy the book and email me at StarHuntersRaffle@gmail.com and say that you've bought the book, you can be entered to win a custom arkin plush! You pick the colors, and I make it happen. Even if you want an orange and bright blue arkin. I can and will make that happen.

I don't think I ever told you guys that I'm involved in StoryShift as the writer of "Fire and Feathers". If you have not already checked it out, please do! I'm having a lot of fun, and it's a great app all around.

StoryShift is a community-driven storytelling platform where you can read stories and comics and vote on what should happen next. It's not a usual flash game, is it even a game? but we dearly welcome your participation in this global storytelling experience, so start voting on our awesome stories and comics!

Every story goes through a cycle:
- The author makes a chapter ending with a choice for the community.
- There's a voting period of typically a week.
- Based on the majority decision by the community, the author works on the next chapter.
- The new chapter is released and again, ends with a choice for the community.
- The cycle goes on.

By being active in StoryShift, you will gain voting power and your votes will have more weight.
So join now and start choosing where you want the stories to go. You will find a lot of talent in these written stories and comics.

So after 8 years' worth of work, I've finally released my science fiction novel "The Star Hunters: Chasing Shadows" on Amazon. It's currently only available as a Kindle ebook, but Amazon has a free app that lets you read Kindle books without a Kindle. Pretty sure I maxed out my Kindle capacity in that last sentence...

Anyway, the story follows a Star Federation solider and a bounty hunter as they work with and against each other under the threat of galactic war. It's a fast-paced space opera that I really enjoyed writing, and I really hope you enjoy reading, should you decide to purchase it :) Oh, and FYI, if you have Amazon Prime, you can borrow the book for free from the Lending Library!

Happy reading!

I don't come on Newgrounds much but I figured hey, why not post an update. Which is probably a good thing, since that Writing Anthology Kickstarter is long over now.

Anyway, I graduated from college back in May, along with the ekublai. Since then, two of my friends have gotten married (not to each other), a lot of my friends have moved away, a few have moved closer, and one went to the other side of the world. Crazy. As for myself, I'm back at home, trying to find a job, but also trying to get a custom dragon plushie business up and running. I'm not doing too shabby so far, and they're fun to make, and freaking adorable. Go check them out on Facebook and / or Tumblr if you want to see them (or order one ;) ... I ship worldwide).

I'm also trying to get my scifi novel represented. I've been working on it for several years, and after a vigorous rewrite this past year, I'm really happy with it, but we'll see. If I can't get an agent, then I'll definitely self-publish as an eBook, but fingers crossed!

Soooooo yeah. That's my current life in a nutshell. I'm going to try to get more drawings done but I'll still probably be a Newgrounds lurker at best. *shrug*

The Kickstarter campaign for the Writing Anthology ended on a high note with 48 backers and a little over $1,800 pledged. We didn't meet our secondary goal, but it's still awesome to see how much support the project had during the campaign. Now that we're ready for publication, all that remains is to get the books printed and shipped, and to work on the higher pledge rewards. I'll be involved in some of those, which should be a lot of fun.

So, thanks again to our supporters!

... Now I just have to hope that one of the supporters actually stumbles across this post. Otherwise this is kind of rambling into the abyss.
